who is monsoon? why have i never heard of this ugly band?
These are the right kinds of questions. And this is the part where I have to tell you about the band and pretend an outside source wrote something really flattering in the passage below. Unfortunately no one ever said anything nice about us, so here I go. "Monsoon is a really good two piece band from Athens, Ga"

Don’t worry, it’s not the kind of indie rock where the reverb pedal stays on as I stare blankly at the fretboard of an unscathed guitar, standing still enough for my own drool to make a perfect pool of slobber onto my shirt. We both wear black, so you'd never even see it. And THAT'S a trade secret.
If we've got anything, it's that Joey and I spent 5 years creating Ghost Party and wanted to make our live show as attractive as we think our album is. It’s not easy to do that, especially when it's 2 people running everything.
I work on shows and make sure we have an unhealthy amount of touring scheduled so that we don't ever have to go back to our real jobs. And he's the Chris Angel mastermind freak behind our light show, speaker boxes, general stage production, AND is the mechanic to our beloved Honda Odyssey named Tony, which doubles as our mobile home on the road. We can't afford a Mercedes Sprinter van or hotels, nor do either one of us have many friends across America (as we don't typically like people). So not many floors to crash on between the two of us. Sleeping/living in the minivan is how we make everything work financially and continue to be the great American DIY rock band that we are today. Since you asked.
But as I like to say, 'We're DIY by Default.' Until someone comes along willing to risk everything on us!
I write and then he records what I write. It's a perfect balance. He's also a libra.
And I'm a scorpio...and I DO apologize in advance about that. Full astral charts provided among request.
In 2016 we were placed on a Toyota Corolla commercial that aired during the Superbowl right after the half-time show. Pretty insane moment for a small local punk band that had no idea what they were doing (and still has no idea what they're doing). We didn’t get rich or famous like we wanted to, but I think it’s still something to be proud of. After that, we both reconnected after a brief, very sad, depressing hiatus, and now Monsoon tours all over the universe connecting with others through the righteous power of rock and roll. And we are THOROUGHLY enjoying our life and are hopefully giving y'all some good nights to remember too. We love you and thanks for being apart of this very, very strange journey we continue to pursue some reason. You all are definitely why we do it, and not because of the big boobied girls that throw money at us and mob around our minivan after the shows.
With all the love,
Sienna and Joey of the 'DIY by Default' band Monsoon
